Egyptian Ambassador here Nasser Hamdy discussed with Saudi Deputy Labor Minister Ahmad al Humaidan the conditions of Egyptian workers in the kingdom.
The Saudi official said labor-related problems among the Egyptian community are small compared to the size of this community, according to an Egyptian embassy statement.
Labor laws are enforced on all sides of the labor relationship, either Saudis or incoming workers, Humaidan said, noting that Egyptian community members have to be made aware about the regulations in Saudi Arabia, including those governing the work system and residency.
For his part, Hamdy expressed appreciation of the care offered by Saudi authorities to Egyptian workers in the kingdom, which led to the increase of incoming workers especially this year.
Several workshops were organized in the Eastern Province and Al Qassim to familiarize community members with Saudi work and residence regulations, he said.
