Egypt's Foreign Ministry has praised the outcome of Riyadh meeting, which grouped a vast range of Syria's opposition groups.
The meeting is an important step to activate the unified stance of Syrian opposition in order to reach a framework for talks with Syrian President Bashar Assad's government, said Ahmed Abu Zeid, the Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry.
Scores of representatives of Syria’s political factions wrapped up on Thursday an unprecedented meeting in Riyadh with a plan to move forward on efforts to hold talks with the Syrian regime.
The spokesman underlined the importance of the final communiqué of the meeting as the participants insisted on the unity of the Syrian territories, the compliance of democratic mechanisms and refusal of all forms of terrorism.
He hoped that such developments could lead to a real political settlement that opens the door for realizing stability, achieving the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people and eliminate terrorism.
Egypt will continue to do its best to realize such goals during the coming period, he added.
