Contacts are underway between Egypt and Saudi Arabia to prepare for a visit by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saudi to Cairo, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said.
"The date of the visit is not determined yet," Shoukry said in an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper on the sidelines of the international conference on the victims of ethnic and religious persecution in the Middle East, which wrapped up earlier in Paris.
"Egypt and Saudi Arabia have identical viewpoints regarding the regional issues," Shoukry said, adding that coordination is in full swing between the two countries to that effect.
Shoukry described as 'very successful' a recent visit by Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud to Egypt.
