A number of political parties have praised the resignation of Justice Minister Mahfouz Saber over his discriminatory remarks on the son of a garbage collector could not be a judge, raising public uproar nationwide.
Head of Al Muatamar (Congress) Party Gamal Hanafy said Saber's remarks are considered flagrant remarks of discrimination that come in violation of the Egyptian constitution. He said ideas of the government ministers' about poor categories should change, calling on the premier to choose ministers who can sense the concerns of the Egyptian citizens.
Meanwhile, Head of the Popular Current Party Hamdeen Sabahi said the resignation of the minister is the least possible response to such insulting remarks to all Egyptians.
