The meetings of the Egyptian-Saudi subcommittee for consular affairs kicked off here on Monday.
The meetings are held under the chairmanship of undersecretary of foreign minister for consular affairs Osama Ahmed Senousi and Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad Hesham el Naqeeb.
Egypt's consul general in Riyadh Maged Nafie and Egypt's consul in Jeddah Adel el Alfy attended the meeting.
The meeting represents an effective mechanism as part of joint efforts to promote ties between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, Senousi said.
He further added that the meeting contributes to creating mechanisms to promote and enhance ties between the two countries.
The periodic meetings related to the consular affairs come in line with directives issued by Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud.
Naqeeb, meanwhile, said that the meeting comes as part of discussing joint cooperation between the two countries in consular affairs and exerting efforts to further promote bilateral ties at all levels.
The Egyptian government is keen on providing all facilities and services to the Saudi visitors to Egypt, he added.
He also extended thanks to the Saudi king for providing all facilities which are related to consular affairs and promoting consular work.
