
Egypt's Supply Minister Khaled Hanafi returned home after a two-day visit to the Kurdish region capital of Erbil, northern Iraq, where he inaugurated a an exhibition for the Egyptian products there.
The Kurdish ministers of trade, investment, and industry were present during the inauguration along with other local officials, Arab and foreign consuls in Erbil.
The 10-day exhibition will showcase the products of 56 Egyptian companies, such as carpets, textiles, clothes, leather goods, natural oils, and furniture, in addition to handicrafts and chemical industries.
The national carrier EgyptAir and Sono Cairo are among the participants in the fair.
The exhibition has been attracting a lot of Kurdish visitors, who expressed their admiration of the exhibits, especially the furniture and carpets.
Speaking to MENA, Egyptian consul in Erbil Omar Fahmi said Hanafi held meetings with the investment minister and head of the region foreign affairs.
They discussed ways of boosting bilateral trade and economic ties, Fahmi said.
Hanafi then left Erbil to Beirut, he added.
