Egyptian who attacked consulate clerk in Kuwait to be deported

Security authorities are taking administrative deportation measures against an Egyptian who attacked a countryman working as a clerk at their country's consulate on Thursday, the Interior Ministry said on Friday.
Scores of Egyptians had flocked to the consulate to update their passports after they violated residency rules, according to the relevant law.
Though the clerk waived the right to prosecute the attacker, the Interior Ministry's relevant security bodies are taking deterrent legal measures against the latter, with an administrative deportation decision as a public right, the Ministry's Security Media Department said in a press statement.
The decision has been taken as part of the Ministry's domain being in charge of protecting diplomatic premises in Kuwait, it noted.
It also aims at deterring any potential transgression against embassies, consulates or any other diplomatic premises, as well as confirming commitment to public order and proper conduct, the statement emphasized.
Handling the issue in time, the Ministry stressed that it will never tolerate any violation against the prestige of the law and public order in terms of diplomatic missions, or neglecting instructions by security bodies for whatever reasons or pretext.
