Egyptian voters here continued casting their ballots on Saturday for the fourth day in the public referendum on the draft constitution. A high turnout was observed today as it is the weekend. The voting process for Egyptian expatriates worldwide is taking place on January 8-12, while for citizens back home on January 14-15. Speaking to MENA, Egyptian Consul in Milan Ali el-Helwani said heads of Egyptian communities in 10 northern towns have been organizing bus trips to Milan to allow voters to reach the consulate for voting. Nearly 2,000 have cast their votes today with the day still in its middle, Helwani said, adding that 87% of Egyptians in Italy live in Milan. About 8,650 Egyptians are registered on the voter list of the High Elections Committee, he noted.
