The Cabinet under Ismail Sherif expressed on Wednesday the government's aspiration to cooperate with the coming parliament to serve the interests of the nation and citizens.
Sherif, at the start of the meeting, greeted Egyptians on the successful parliamentary elections that were held in a neutral, honest and transparent atmosphere.
He lauded the performance of all ministries and state bodies and their role in putting into effect the decisions of the Higher Elections Committee.
He thanked the Armed Forces and Police for their efforts in securing the balloting process.
Sherif also expressed appreciation for judges' role in overseeing the voting.
Among the positive elements in the parliamentary polls were the appraisal of many international organizations of the integrity of the balloting process, the ability of voters to cast the ballots without any hurdles, the win of many women and young people of parliamentary seats and the fact that no acts of violence have been reported during the voting process, the premier said.
The new parliament is set to convene before the end of 2015.
