A high-profile delegation will head Tuesday to Ethiopia to attend a two-day technical meeting, which will discuss the Egyptian concerns on the Ethiopia Renaissance Dam within the framework of the Khartoum agreement between Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia.
The Egyptian delegation will discuss on Wednesday and Thursday some proposals floated by Egypt on the dam.
A report on the outcome of the technical meeting will be referred to the ministers of Ethiopia, Egypt and Sudan, said Alaa Yassin, the Egyptian irrigation minister's adviser said.
The proposal aims at increasing holes in the dam's body to facilitate water flow to the downstream states, namely Egypt and Sudan.
In Khartoum, the foreign and water resources ministers of the three countries agreed that Arterlia company will supersede the Dutch company Deltares that was at odds with BRL and will finalize the studies in about eight months as of signing a new contract with the two companies as of February.
