
Egypt's Grand Mufti Shawki Allam on Friday congratulated Saudi King Salman bin Abdel Aziz after being granted the Collar of the Nile.
Earlier in the day, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi granted King Salman the Collar of the Nile (Kiladat El Nil) in appreciation of the friendly and distinguished relations binding the two countries.
In a statement on Friday, Allam praised a role played by the Saudi king in support of Egypt and Arab countries at all levels.
He hailed as strong and historic relations binding Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
The Collar of the Nile (Kiladat El Nil) is Egypt's highest state honor. It is awarded by Egypt for exceptional services to the country.
