Egyptian parliamentary elections are to start in March, the election commission said on Thursday, in what is seen as the final stage in the country's transition to democracy, dpa reported.
The elections for the House of Representatives will be held in two stages each over two days, head of the commission Ayman Abbas said.
The first stage is to be held on March 22-23, covering 14 of the country's 27 governorates, he said at a press conference.
Run-offs for this stage are scheduled for April 1 and 2.
The second and final stage is to be held on April 26-27 with run-offs slated for May 6 and 7.
