
Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail directed to form a committee under the health minister to follow up the conditions of Egyptian pilgrims after the Mina stampede.
The committee comprises representatives from the interior, foreign affairs and health ministries, said Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa who leads Egypt's hajj mission.
The committee will follow up the developments of the incident and discuss the necessary support for the injured in coordination with head of Hajj mission, Gomaa said.
As many as 717 pilgrims died and at least 863 others were injured on Thursday when a stampede broke out in the tent city of Mina during a Hajj pilgrimage ritual.
Eight Egyptian pilgrims have died and 30 others injured in the stampede.
Gomaa is due to attend Friday a reception hosted by Saudi king Salman bin Abdel Aziz for heads of Hajj missions.
Gomaa will meet with Minister of Hajj Bandar Hajjar.
