
Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab, accompanied by a number of ministers and Matrouh Governor General Alaa Abu Zeid, inspected a number of slums at Ezbet Al Salam in Matrouh.
During the tour, Mahlab was briefed on the needs of shanty areas housing 35,000 people.
Mahlab said a sum of five million pounds was approved to develop such areas. He also said approximately 1.7 million pounds were approved to upgrade the electricity network in the governorate as of the fiscal year 2015/2016.
The premier also listened to the needs of some residents for receive treatment at state expense and jobs.
