President of the Egyptian Republic Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said Wednesday in Algiers that his visit to Algeria aims at reaching a real understanding and a joint vision of the bilateral common interests.
“My visit to Algeria aims at reaching a real understanding and a joint vision of the common interests and challenges facing the two countries and the region,” el-Sisi told the press upon his arrival in the International Airport Houari Boumediene.
Egyptian president broached the “common strategic themes” to Egypt and Algeria. “The two countries need to work together on several issues,” he said.
There is also the issue of terrorism, this “problem” which requires “a coordination of positions” and joint efforts to fight together against this phenomenon,” said el-Sisi.
It is also about other issues including the situation in Libya, the neighbouring country of Algeria and Egypt, he added.
President el-Sisi, who is on his first visit abroad since his election as Egypt’s president, conveyed “his greetings” and expressed his appreciation to Algeria, people and direction, underlining that he wanted, through this visit, to personally congratulate the Algerian president and people following the success of the presidential of April 17.
