
The Emirates Red Crescent has delivered 50 water pumps to Yemen's Governorate of Aden to enable the city's municipality to provide drinking waters to the population after water wells were destroyed in the war.
Governor of Aden, Brigadier Aidarous Al Zubaiai, and other Yemeni officials took delivery of the donated pumps .
In a press release, the Emirates Red Crescent said it is carrying out similar projects in other Yemeni governorates to meet demand for clean water.
The humanitarian agency noted that it will continue to support Yemeni local authorities to provide basic services for citizens.
Director of Water and Sewerage Establishment, Najib Mohammed, said the pumps will be installed at 50 water wells to restore 95 per cent of the lost capacity in Aden.
He thanked the UAE for playing a humanitarian role in Yemen and supporting development in the country's sectors.
