A Kuwait-based expatriate has been honoured by his employer after he found 7,000 Kuwaiti Dinars (KD) and handed them to officers.
The cash found by the security guard is 75 times his monthly salary of KD100.
Juda Jamal Abdul Salam said that he found the bag on a street pavement and when he opened it, he found KD6,600 and $3,000.
Without hesitations, he took it to the head of a department who said he was pleasantly surprised that the expatriate security guard did not keep the money with him, Kuwaiti daily Al Anba reported on Thursday.
"When I found the bag, I stood for a long time waiting for the rightful owner to come back looking for it," Juda said. "However, nobody came and I eventually took the bag to the manager of the company and told him about it and about the cash it contained
Seeking to find out more about the employee's honesty, the manager asked him if he was seen by anyone as he picked the bag.
"Yes! God the Almighty was watching me," the employee reportedly answered.
Two hours later, an employee working for a fund transfer company came to the office asking whether anyone had spotted a money bag that was missing.
Following routine verifications, the bag was handed over to him, the daily said.
The company, a real estate firm, recognised the honesty and commitment of its employee, and held an honouring ceremony for Juda
