
Minister of Environment Khaled Fahmi said he will work in the coming period to accomplish several environment files, especially that of the Nile River.
Fahmi - who remained in office despite yesterday's cabinet reshuffle - said he will cooperate with the parliament to ratify an amended environment bill.
He will also work on activating investments in natural protectorates in line with environment protection laws.
The minister also pledged to work on forging an agro-waste disposal mechanism.
He said Egypt has boasted a pioneering position over the past period, referring to its chairmanship of the African environment ministerial conference.
Over the past two years, Fahmi has successfully dealt with several thorny issues, including using coal as an energy resource.
