
As part of the UAE's efforts to support the education sector in Yemen, the Emirates Red Crescent, ERC, yesterday launched the first phase of its University Rehabilitation Project in the southern port of Aden.
The ERC supplemented equipment at the Science College in the University of Aden with 200 placements, 2 data projectors, 2 computers and 4 air conditioning units, to help Yemeni students overcome difficulties and build their academic future.
Dr. Ishraq Al Shobaei, Assistant Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Public Health and Population in Yemen, and coordinator of ERC projects in Aden, said that the project is part of the UAE's programme to promote and prepare various education sectors in Aden. She also pointed out that the ERC's priority is to improve both basic and university education services in support of science and education.
Dr. Najat Ali Muqbil, Dean of the Science College at the University of Aden, expressed her thanks and appreciation to the UAE government and people for their firm stance and support of educational institutions in Aden and other Yemeni governorates.
