
Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmi met Monday with a number of foreign ministers of the countries participating in the meetings of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in the Guinean capital Conakry. The meetings took up bilateral relations as well as consultations on some regional and international issues of common interest. Fahmi met on Monday with Palestinian and Lebanese Foreign Ministers Riyad al-Malki and Adnan Mansour, respectively, as well as the OIC Canadian envoy and the OIC Head Ekmeleddin ?hsano?lu, according to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman. During his meeting with al-Malki, Fahmi discussed the latest developments in the Palestinian cause in light of the Palestinian-Israeli negotiations. The two sides also discussed the need to stop building settlements by the Israeli side so that the negotiations would lead to establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
