The destiny of 200 Egyptian fishermen from the Delta governorate of Kafr El-Sheikh is unknown after they went missing in Libya.
Head of the fishermen union Ahmed Abdo said all contacts were lost with the Egyptian fishermen in Misrata and Benghazi since four days ago.
Abdo said the fishermen could face death in Libya as a result of the instability in the war-torn North African country.
Their relatives became frantic with worry about the fate of their beloved, Abdo said.
He urged the Foreign Ministry to intervene to return back the fishermen.
