The first relief convoy allocated by the Saudi government to the Syrian refugees in Jordan crossed the Jordanian border last night. The convoy, which came within the framework of the campaign recently launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the relief of Syrian refugees, included 43 trucks carrying large quantities of food and different relief supplies. Executive Director of the campaign Mubarak bin Saeed al-Baker said in a press release that the campaign launched by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz prepared an integrated program to run several relief convoys to assist the Syrian people who have been displaced from their country to Jordan. Specialized cadres were set up to oversee the distribution of these aids in coordination with relevant Jordanian entities, al-Baker explained. He also stressed that other convoys will head to countries where Syrian refugees reside within the framework of the campaign which had raised 440 million Saudi Riyals.
