
Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of the Federal National Council, FNC, has received Mohammed Amin Al Kareb, Ambassador of Sudan to the UAE, who congratulated her on being elected president of the FNC and becoming the first woman to lead a parliament in the Arab and Middle East region.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed avenues of joint co-operation and a variety of issues of mutual interest. They also stressed the need for establishing a joint parliamentary friendship committee to strengthen parliamentary ties and coordinate the Emirati-Sudanese stances in regional and international parliamentary gatherings.
The FNC Speaker and the Sudanese Ambassador valued the existing bilateral co-operation in the light of the highly delicate and sensitive circumstances the region is passing through which, they affirmed, need further joint co-ordination to tackle them so as to ensure the security of the two countries.
Al Qubaisi said Sudan is a strategic partner of the UAE and the two countries share identical points of view towards regional and international topics of mutual concern. She also noted the high level of joint co-ordination and co-operation on different political issues in support of regional and international security and stability.
She added that the UAE under the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan is keen to boost its historical relations with Sudan to achieve the mutual interest of the two brotherly peoples.
