
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry telephoned Fayez al-Sarraj, the Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya, ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said Thursday.
The contact dwelt on the political and security developments in Libya and Egypt's support to the Libyan presidency in order to be able to fulfill its tasks, serve the interests of the Libyan people and protect Libya, he added.
Egypt is keeping a close eye on the developments in Libya and will continue to support the Libyan government and army in its terrorism-combat efforts until restoring stability in all Libyan cities, the spokesman quoted the top diplomat as having said.
