The Egyptian Embassy in Khartoum and the General Egyptian Consulate in Port Sudan have been following up the issue of arresting Egyptian fishermen by the Sudanese authorities and referring them to court.
They face charges of crossing the Sudanese territorial waters without permission.
The embassy and the consulate are following up the issue, said the Foreign Ministry on Saturday, adding that the efforts, exerted by the consulate with the Sudanese authorities, have succeeded.
The consulate resumes its contacts with the lawyer assigned with defending them to make sure that they are safe.
Representatives of the consulate attended the sessions of the trial.
The embassy and the consulate have been carrying out contacts with the officials in the Sudanese Foreign and Justice Ministries to release the fishermen, Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Badr Abdel Aatti said.
