
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ambassador Badr Abdel Attei said the crisis cell, formed upon directives by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, is conducting intensive contacts with the Libyan government officials and Foreign Ministry to follow up the issue of the group of Egyptians kidnapped in Sirte.
He said a number of independent Libya figures, Libyan chieftains and head of the societal liaison committee have recently visited Cairo to meet with Foreign Ministry officials and concerned bodies in Egypt and discuss means of securing the release of the kidnapped.
He again affirmed that the foreign ministry and all concerned bodies will pursue all efforts to safeguard the Egyptian nationals in the areas of tension.
