Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Hesham el Naqib said Cairo will help any expatriate return back to home, whether from Libya or any other country.
In statements at Cairo International Airport, Naqib said the Foreign Ministry had coordinated for a few months to secure a safe return of the Egyptians held in Libya.
Earlier in the day, Naqib received 35 Egyptians who were held captive by armed elements in Libya.
Naqib urged Egyptians not to travel to any country that witnesses political turmoil and instability.
Within this context, Naqib referred to a citizen welfare system under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The security of an Egyptian citizen is part and parcel of the security of Egypt, Naqib said.
Egypt maintains contacts with the legitimate Libyan government to help return any stranded Egyptian from the war torn country, Naqib asserted.
