A forum propagating peace and tolerance in all societies will be held next Monday under aegis of Chairperson of Kuwait Society for Ideal Family Sheikha Fariha Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who is also the honorary President of the Organization for Peace and Tolerance, a statement said on Saturday.
A number of Kuwaiti and Arab dignitaries will attend the forum, among them the Egyptian minister of Awqaf Dr. Mohammad Joma'a, President of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union Essam Al-Amir, and Princess Maha Bint Nawaf Al Saud, the statement, issued by the Society for the Ideal Family, said.
It added that the forum will take place at a time the Arab region is going through a delicate period of history, facing numerous challenges requiring an affirmation of such values as tolerance, rejection of violence and extremism, said the statement.
It further said that the Organization for Peace and Tolerance, which is sponsoring this event, has aptly selected Kuwait in which to convene this forum, stressing in that choice Kuwait's commitment to propagating peace, tolerance, and stability worldwide.
It noted that this choice also comes in recognition of Kuwait's humanitarian endeavors recently capped by the conferring of the title of a Humanitarian Leader on His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and that of a Humanitarian Center on Kuwait.
On her part, the Oraganization's representative in Kuwait Dalia Badran said that at the conclusion of the forum, president of the Organization Dr. Hamdi Qandil will hand the Torch of Tolerance to Sheikha Fariha, to remain in Kuwait as a testimony of a land where coexistence among all races and people prevails under a canopy of peace and tolerance.
After the Torch handover ceremony, 21 white doves, symbolizing peace, will be released in the skies of Kuwait, said Badran.
The forum will take place concomitantly with Kuwait's hosting of the 3rd Donors Conference for the benefit of the displaced Syrians and refugees, she said.
