Under the patronage of Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan, the Coast Guard has launched the 4th Border and Coast Guard Week under the theme "Ask Before Sailing" from April 7 to 14.
Commander of the Coast Guard, Brigadier Alaa Siyadi asserted that such events aim to save lives, as the safety of seafarers is top priority of the coast guard.
He said that the week will promote awareness on safety sailing such as checking the weather reports before sailing and ensure the availability of safety tools on the boats, in addition to avoid crossing regional water of Bahrain.
Coast Guard expressed thanks and appreciation to the various interior Ministry departments, and government and private organisations for supporting the event.
