French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius praised Tuesday the Syrian opposition conference in Riyadh that ran for three days started on December 10.
In a statement, Fabius said ceasefire in Syria became a necessity in a credible transition state in accordance with the Geneva II Communiqué.
All parties attending the Paris conference on Syria expressed readiness to join the work group on terror that was agreed to be run by Jordan.
Fabius chaired a meeting that brought together 17 countries, including Syrian President Bashar al Assad's allies; Russia and Iran in November on a roadmap for Syria crisis solution.
The Geneva process includes a meeting in January between the Syrian opposition and regime representatives to form an interim government within six months and organize elections within 18 months.
