GCC Secretary General Abdullatif Al-Zayani phoned Yemen's President Abd-Rabb Mansour Hadi Thursday, expressing the Council's condemnation of the "terrorist incident" that targeted a rally of Houthis at Tahrir Square in the Yemeni capital earlier, local media reported.
In the phone conversation, Al-Zayani also condemned other terrorist attacks that targeted military checkpoints in Bayda and Hadhramaut Governorates earlier in the day, expressing deep condolences to the Yemeni leader, people, and victims' families, and wishing a speedy recovery for the injured, according to Yemen News Agency (SABA).
Al-Zayani also affirmed the GCC's continued support of Yemen at various circumstances and situations, assuring the Council's support of President Hadi's steps towards completing remaining requirements of the transitional stage in order to exit the country from the current situation as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the two sides also discussed latest developments on the national arena, and exchanged opinions on regional and international stances towards recent developments in Yemen.
