The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is deeply concerned over North Korea's hydrogen bomb test which could threaten peace and security in the Korean Peninsula and the world, KUNA quoted Secretary General Abdullatif bin Rashed Al Zayani as saying on Thursday.
In a press statement, Al Zayani said that the hydrogen bomb test was a violation of international law, stressing that the GCC was in support of all efforts to prevent the spread of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD).
The test was in violation of the Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT), said Al-Zayani who called on the international community to take the necessary procedures to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons.
