The GCC 13th housing conference started here on Sunday, with a meeting by the technical team, tasked with providing online information about the sector in the council's member states.
Eid Al-Khaldi, the GCC Secretariat General's director of municipalities and housing affairs, affirmed in a statement significant role of the technical team, namely providing information and data to the decision makers. Information about standards and specifications for construction, designing and execution, are provided online, Al-Khaldi said. "We also have a data base related to all the GCC housing authorities and their organizational structures," he added.
Specialized staff have also set up a website furnishing private entrepreneurs with necessary information for having stakes in housing ventures.
Al-Khaldi added that the Secretariat General received, during the meeting, various proposals from the participating delegations, including one about transferring offices of the online housing data from headquarters of the Bahraini Ministry of Housing to the GCC Secretariat General's main office.
Elaborating, he underscored necessity of the computerized data for drawing up housing policies in the GCC countries and providing citizens with residential units with top specifications and within shortest periods of time possible.
