Foreign ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council have issued instructions to complete formalities related to the Riyadh Document, over common security and foreign policy, in no less than a week, Secretary General Abdullateef Al-Zayani said on Wednesday.
His remarks came as ministers met in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to discuss steps made in the implementation of the Riyadh Document, concluded on April 17 this year.
The document ensures working at a group level and that policies of any individual state should not affect the interests, security or stability of any other member state and without affecting the sovereignty of any of its states.
They also expressed their appreciation of the tireless efforts currently being administered by a committee tasked with the implementation of the document and steps required for its implementation, he added.
The document will support joint efforts across various spectrums aimed at further integration based on the vision of GCC leaders in maintaining the security and stability of their nations and materializing the aspirations of their people, he said.
