Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani hailed on Sunday a Saudi-brokered effort to bolster relations between Egypt and Qatar.
Zayani said that the Saudi initiative aims at facing challenges threatening the Arab region.
He noted that the success of the initiative came as result of the distinguished position of Saudi Arabia in the region.
Ties between Cairo and Doha deteriorated after then-army chief Abdel Fattah El Sisi removed president Mohamed Morsi from power in July 2013 following mass protests against his rule.
