The secretary-general of the GCC Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani strongly condemned the booby-trapped car explosion in the parking of the Shaikh Isa bin Salman mosque in West Riffa. Dr. Al-Zayani denounced the cowardly terror blast which revealed its evil-minded perpetrators who pay no heed to the sacred month of Ramadan, the sanctity of the month or innocent lives. In statement today, he said that such criminal designs would never succeed in Bahrain's peace-loving society. Dr. Al-Zayani hailed the measures being undertaken to maintain security and stability, combat terror and extremist cells which are seeking to fuel violence, terrorise innocent people and harm vital national interests. He expressed full confidence in the competence and ability of the security agencies to apprehend the unscrupulous perpetrators and bring them to justice, along with the instigators on terror and violence. The GCC chief deplored the evil-minded perpetrators who trampled upon human and Islamic values with the intent of targeting innocent lives and fuelling sectarian strife. He affirmed the stance of the GCC member states in support of all measures undertaken in Bahrain to maintain security and stability and protect citizens and residents
