
GCC Secretary General Abdullaif bin Rashid Al Zayani conferred here today with US Secretary of State John Kerry.
The meeting, which was attended by GCC ambassadors, discussed ties of cooperation and friendship binding the GCC states and the United States as well as means of enhancing them. It also discussed the situation in the region and the latest developments in Yemen.
At the meeting, the US Secretary of State praised the US-GCC relations and lauded the GCC states' efforts within the international coalition against the Islamic State terror group in Iraq and Syria as well as their efforts in the fight against terrorist organizations in the region.
For his part, the GCC Secretary General stressed the GCC countries' keenness on enhancing their historical ties with the United States and on continuing their efforts to maintain security and stability in the region, praising the level of cooperation and coordination between the two sides in all that could achieve the region's security, stability and prosperity.
