The Secretary General of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Arab States, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani summoned the Lebanese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdulsattar Isa to the GCC General Secretariat's headquarters here today, to protest against the remarks recently made by the Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General, Hassan Nasrallah on the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr. Al-Zayani handed over a GCC note of protest to the Lebanese ambassador against those hostile and irresponsible remarks made by Hassan Nasrallah about the Kingdom of Bahrain as an explicit incitement to violence, and interference in its internal affairs.
A press statement issued by the GCC Secretariat said that the GCC countries considered the statements of Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General as inconsistent with fraternal and historical relations between the GCC countries with the Republic of Lebanon, calling on the Lebanese government to clarify its position on these statements, to start dealing with whatever may harm the relations of the Republic Lebanon with the GCC countries, and take necessarily deterrent and decisive legal action against those hostile statements.
