
The 31st GCC Traffic Week started here on Sunday and runs until March 31 under the slogan: "Your Decision Decides Your Fate", with the participation of senior officials of the General Department of Traffic.
The traffic week includes a number of events related to safety on roads, Interior Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs Major General Abdullah Al-Muhanna said in a press statement on Sunday.
The events include a number of field visits by visiting GCC delegations to some key traffic facilities aiming at raising people's awareness about traffic in order to find optimal solutions to traffic problems, he said.
He voiced his gratitude to the GCC delegations, commending the interactive role of citizens in supporting all activities to raise the level of traffic performance on roads.
He conveyed the greetings of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and the Interior Ministry's Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sulaiman Al-Fahad to the delegations.
The event concentrates on the significance of societal partnerships in promoting the efforts undertaken by the General Department of Traffic to provide a safe and sustainable traffic environment.
