Lebanese Forces party leader Samir Geagea said Saturday that his Party will boycott dialogue talks to be held later this week in Lebanon.
Parliament speaker Nabei Berri has called for the talks to over the current crisis.
Geagea termed the talks "a waste of time" like previous ones.
The crisis has bee triggered by the government's inability to resolve the issue of garbage. It has been persisting since the mid-July closure of Naameh, the city's main landfill, due to overcapacity. Mountains of garbage were left to pile up in the country's capital.
"The country is sinking in wastes with no solution for the past two months," said Geagea.
He called for electing a new president.
