Scientists from the UAE, Arab World, Europe and the USA will gather here to discuss most recent findings in the field of human, animal and plant genomics and bioinformatics at an event, to be held between 13th and 15th November.
Organised by the Department of Biology, College of Science, and Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at the United Arab Emirates University, the event will see speakers deliver keynote speeches and come up with presentations on a number of themes such as genomics, proteomics, transcriptomics and systems biology.
The three-day event will feature discussions on latest developments in genomics/bioinformatics science, explore collaboration opportunities between UAE research centres and other multinational institutions and enhance the understanding of genomic variations.
More than 120 research papers and presentations would be featured during the event, said Dr Khaled Amiri, Chairman of the organising committee.
Amiri, who is also Director of Department of Biology, UAE University, and Khalifa Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, said that his department had conducted a series of scientific researches and helped a number of government agencies in this field.
