South Sinai Governor Maj. Gen. Khaled Fouda asserted that Sharm el-Sheikh city is fully safe. The governor made the remarks with a number of Ukrainian media outlets in a bid to promote tourism in Sharm el-Sheikh in particular and in South Sinai in general. Fouda called on the Ukrainian people to visit Egypt, adding that Sharm el-Sheikh is not affected by the political incidents in Egypt. The Egyptian tourism industry, which employs one in 10 workers, is one of the economy's main sources of foreign revenue. It has already seen two years of political turmoil since toppling president Hosni Mubarak.
