
The Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council asserted its firm stance on condemning all forms of terrorism and extremism irrespective of their motives, calling for uprooting the financial sources of terror.
It also said that it is committed to fighting extremist ideas that are adopted by the terrorist organizations which tarnish the image of Islam.
The council underlined the importance of tolerance and co-existence among the nations, adding that it works on fighting extremism that threatens the region and the whole world.
These remarks came during the closing session of the council's 36th session here under the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The council hailed the role played by the member countries in combating terrorism on the regional and international levels.
