Yemeni Foreign Minister Abdel Malek al Mekhlafi said the legitimacy of President Abdrabbu Mansour Hadi is not subject to discussion.
The president and the government are recognized by the international community, he said at a press conference at the Yemeni embassy in Kuwait late Tuesday.
He said the government works on alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people, holding the militias of Houthis and ousted Yemeni president Ali Abdallah Saleh responsible for economic deterioration.
The government delegation had decided to suspend its participation in the consultations after what he described as coup delegation refused to adhere to the UN Security Council resolutions, the Gulf initiative and the outcome of the national dialogue, Mekhlafi said.
Yemen has been entangled in civil war when Houthis and Saleh supporters attempted a coup against the internationally recognized president Hadi.
Almost a year ago, Saudi Arabia led an Arab coalition forces to back Hadi and resistance forces.
