Hamas warns if national unity fails to respond to Gaza needs

The Islamic Resistance Movement of Hamas has warned of "severe alternatives" if the national unity government did not honor commitments to Gaza Strip.

In press statements about the election win of the Islamic bloc, the Hamas student arm, Sami Abu Zuhri said Hamas would leave no alternatives but severe ones "if the rights of the Palestinians were not taken into consideration."

He condemned the Palestinian Authority preventive security for arresting representative of the Islamic bloc at the preparatory committee for Birzeit University elections Jihad Salim.

He called for the immediate release of Salim and a stoppage of security manhunt targeting activists of the Islamic bloc in the West Bank.
