
Health Minister Ahmed Emad directed to raise alert to its highest level in all hospitals and health units in coastal cities and to form a medical team to be stationed at Cairo International Airport in the wake of the disappearance of the EgyptAir plane.
In the meantime, the minister held a number of contacts with heads of health departments in the coastal governorates to reassure on their readiness to the situation.
Meantime, Health Ministry Spokesman Khaled Megahed said 55 ambulances are on alert in Alexandria governorate, adding that an operation room was formed in the governorate to follow up the incident.
