
Heavy clashes continued between Syrian opposition forces and regime troops surrounding Jober Al-Demashqi area, amid a slight advantage to regime forces, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said Friday.
In a statement, SOHR said clashes were ongoing amidst renewed shelling by regime forces in the area.
The statement noted that at least 11 air raids were carried out since the morning at Jober Al-Demashqi, with no word on casualties.
The Syrian opposition forces fired several mortar rounds in Dawar Al-Baitara, including three rounds on Al-Kabas Bridge, with no confirmation of casualties.
Mortar rounds were also fired in Al-Qaboon neighborhoods and preliminary estimate show a number of deaths and injuries.
Meanwhile, a military source told the Syrian news agency (SANA) that a number of military units made critical advancements in farms surrounding Hatitah area and Ma'amal Aqeq after defeating opposition forces.
On another front, regime forces continued to shell Al-Qunaitera suburb and clashes continue with Islamist militants in the area.
