
The Assistant Undersecretary for Exits, Search and Follow-up at the Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) said that the highest number of travellers on King Fahad Causeway ever registered was on Saturday, February 28.
The number of people entering and/or leaving on that date reached 100,643. The number of departures reached 62,266 and arrivals 38,377, the highest figure since the Causeway was opened in November 1986.
He said the passport personnel worked hard to process the travellers’ paperwork in accordance to a predesigned work set for such situations. He added that 278,585 people had entered Bahrain between February 26 and March 4.
According to statistics, 233,954 arrived from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries via King Fahad Causeway, 42,148 through Bahrain International Airport and 2,483 through the seaports.
