House of Representatives Speaker Ali Abdel Aal stressed on Tuesday that a draft NGOs law is "constitutional."
During a discussion on the bill at the parliament, Abdel Aal said that there are no major differences between the two NGOs bills provided by MPs and the government.
Earlier in the day, the House of Representatives approved the bill submitted by chairman of the parliament's social solidarity committee Abdel Hadi el Qasabi and 203 other lawmakers on regulating the performance of NGOs.
If approved, the 89-article bill will be referred to the Egyptian State Council, Abdel Aal said.
The House of Representatives is open to any amendments or observations to be submitted by the government before the final approval of the bill, he added.
