His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa today received a congratulatory cable from the Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Dr. Isam Abdulla Fakhro marking the African Union Shield granted to him by the African Union Commission's Chairperson Dr. Jean Ping. Dr. Fakhro extended, on behalf of himself, BCCI members and the trade and industry community in Bahrain, sincere congratulations to HRH Premier for being honoured by the AU in tribute to the key role he has played in achieving regional and global peace, bolstering relations with African countries and supporting efforts to achieve sustainable social and economic development in the world. Dr. Fakhro affirmed that the Shied and honoring represent a new international recognition of HRH Prime Minister's landmark achievements, wise leadership, statesmanship, far-sightedness, distinguished international relations, constant interest in global development and peace issues and incessant support for sustainable development efforts across the world, adding that the Shield adds to HRH Premier's rich record of achievements and is a source of pride for Bahrain as it reflects the international acclaim enjoyed by its wise leadership. He also expressed full support for the efforts being exerted by HRH Premier and the cabinet to bring about more progress and prosperity for the kingdom, praising in this regard the sound directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Chairman of the Economic Development Board. He also asserted that HRH Premier's honouring is a source of pride for all Bahraini citizens, wishing the kingdom further success, progress and prosperity.
